The UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction started on Saturday, March 14th.

The Sendai City Support Center for Civil Activities serves as the Thematic Pavilion for “Civil Society Collaboration and DRR”. A message board is situated on the first floor for the visitors to leave a message. Below are some thoughts about DRR and reconstruction for the future.

She gave her message in English as she has experience studying in the US for around 2 weeks. Her objective is to attend the “TOMODACHI” related event, and meet people involved in disaster prevention in the Tohoku area. She seemed satisfied saying, “I was able to interact with various people, even apart from my initial intent.”
