Community leaders meet to reflect on and share important lessons learned from Great Eastern Japan earthquake

March 9, 2015: Over 30 examples of community-based disaster recovery and risk reduction strategies will be showcased in conjunction with the UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction at a special public form in Sendai beginning March 14th. A special pavilion will be set up dedicated to the theme of "Civil Society Collaboration and Disaster Risk Reduction." Community members who were affected by the disaster will provide seminars and workshops offering their perspectives and recommendations for taking effective countermeasures against future disasters.
